A REVIEW ON ROLE OF MACHINE LEARNING IN THE FIELD OF PRODUCTION PLANNING AND CONTROL

Items are being requested in ever-growing quantities; product life cycles are becoming shorter, and wants are changing at an increasing rate. These trends are increasing the complexity of production planning and control to unprecedented levels. However, what is to come also presents new encouraging opportunities. The Internet of Things (IoT) and cyber-physical systems (CPS) are seen as the empowering technologies behind the visionary concept of Industry 4.0. These technologies will alter production planning and control in a variety of ways. The quality of information will significantly improve, and the tracking of all types of movements and goods will be available continuously.
