Political Change and Women Developmental Transition, Shift from Village to Town Life and Challenge of Nepali Youth.
The meaning of development is related to the extent to which a society, culture, group or individual under any historical stage has or has not achieved maturity within the scope of the nature and form of that stage. Since the philosophy or theory of development is itself a product of the capitalist stage, ‘development’ in a narrow but correct sense is related specifically to maturity or immaturity under the capitalist stage. On the other hand, ‘liberation’ is a concept that does not match the nature and form of the capitalist stage. ‘Liberation’ is a concept of a culture and economic-political system free from exploitation. In the current world context, ‘liberation’ is the desire to overcome both the feudal and capitalist stages. The question arises as to whether Nepal will be complete in five years as the new constitution is drafted and implemented. Certainly, a more egalitarian Nepal will be established within five years. This Nepal will be egalitarian and will also embrace a competitive multi-party system. It seems necessary and possible to imagine a Nepal with political freedom, civil rights established, and those rights established as widely as possible. The dream of a new Nepal that can be seen for the next five-six years has been partly outlined in the interim constitution of Nepal. The interim constitution contains some such parts that we are currently imagining. Such parts should be expanded to establish the right to free education up to secondary level, quality primary health care, and access to quality food. After that, the path forward and the main mantra is employment. The issue of how to create employment is the biggest challenge. However, the Nepal of the next five years will be a Nepal that has progressed significantly, is rising, and is laying the foundation for what lies ahead, mainly in terms of education, health, access to food, and employment.
