EFFECT OF HARNESSING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR EFFECTIVE EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT IN GOVERNMENT-OWNED COLLEGES OF EDUCATION IN BENUE STATE, NIGERIA
This study examined the effect of Artificial Intelligence on educational leadership and management in government-owned Colleges of Education in Benue State, Nigeria. The study specifically investigated how Artificial Intelligence influences key leadership and management functions, including planning, organizing, staffing, and supervision. A descriptive survey research design was adopted, and data were collected from staff of the selected Colleges of Education using a structured questionnaire designed on a five-point Likert scale. The population of the study was 150 staff, out of which 134 copies of the questionnaire were correctly completed and returned, representing an 89% response rate. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression analysis at a 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that Artificial Intelligence has a significant positive effect on educational leadership and management in government-owned Colleges of Education in Benue State. The study concluded that AI enhances administrative efficiency, improves decision-making, and strengthens leadership functions in educational institutions. It was recommended that government and institutional management should invest in ICT infrastructure, staff training, and supportive policies to enhance effective AI adoption in Colleges of Education.
