THE IMPORTANCE OF ELECTRONIC LIBRARIES (E-LIBRARIES) IN FISHERIES MANAGEMENT: A CRITICAL REVIEW
This article provides a critical review of the importance of electronic libraries (e-libraries) in fisheries management. E-libraries offer several benefits, including improved access to information, increased efficiency, and enhanced collaboration among stakeholders. The article highlights examples of e-libraries being used in fisheries management, such as the FAO E-Library and IAMSLIC. It also discusses challenges and limitations, including access to technology and the digital divide. The article concludes that e-libraries are an important tool in fisheries management and recommends increased investment in digital infrastructure, improved access to information, and collaboration and knowledge-sharing among stakeholders.
