Enhanced Dielectric and Piezoelectric Properties of BaTiO₃-Infused K₀.₃Na₀.₂Bi₀.₅TiO₃ Ceramics for High-Frequency Applications

In the present study, BaTiO3-modified K0.3 Na0.2 Bi0.5TiO3 (KNNBT) ceramics were prepared using a solid-state reaction method. The influence of BaTiO3 (BT) addition on the microstructure, dielectric, ferroelectric, and piezoelectric properties of KNNBT ceramics was investigated. The study’s finding shows that the dielectric properties of BT-modified KNT ceramics were significantly improved compared to those of pure KNT ceramics. The maximum dielectric constant was about 21000 for the BT-modified KNT ceramic with a BT content of 0.1 mol %. The addition of BT significantly enhanced the densification of KNT ceramics. The enhanced densification was ascribed to the forming of a BT-rich phase, which acted as a nucleating agent. The BaTiO3-modified KNNBT ceramics showed a good piezoelectric response with the piezoelectric coefficient d33 of 451 PC/N.  The results suggest that the BT-modified KNT ceramics are promising candidates for high-frequency applications.
