Factors Influencing Optimal Treatment of Cervical Cancer Patients on Chemoradiotherapy in Kenya
This study investigates the factors influencing optimal treatment of cervical cancer patients on chemo radiotherapy in Kenya. Analyzing data from 158 patients diagnosed between January 2014 and September 2019, the study evaluated the influence of HIV infection, Disease Staging and Tumor Grading on treatment efficacy and survival rates. Results indicate that HIV-positive patients generally experience poorer outcomes, with significant differences in survival rates based on disease stage and HIV status. The study underscores the need for targeted interventions to address these disparities and improve patient outcomes. Cervical cancer remains a significant health issue in Kenya, where late-stage diagnosis and co-morbid conditions like HIV significantly impact treatment outcomes.
